Publishing Task 3 Migration, Final Website

 

Here is a list of all the things I implemented into my website

Plugins

·      Depicter

            This plugin was used to create a video slide show, it was used in one of the posts

·      FooGallery

      This plugin was one of the many gallery plugins used to create different types of galleries. This one would give the name of the image when hovered and when clicked, brings the user to a different page to download the image themselves

MetaSlider

This plugin was used to create a slide show used on the home page, which allowed for a description of each image on it

·      Robo Gallery

      This plugin was another gallery plugin, it allowed for a gallery where the user can click the image to enlarge it, giving a small description at the bottom and it has arrows to allow them to look at the full gallery without clicking off the slideshow

 

Code Snippets

·      Remove Hyperlink in Comments

        A genetic code snippet that prevents users from being taken off the website easily

·      Make Posts require a featured image

      This was used as a reminder to have a featured image in the posts, as they didn’t look good without one, it also gives the posts a consistent design.

·      Custom image sizes

        This was used in different posts to fix the image size and made it more appropriate

·      Minimal Comment length

        Another generic code snippet to avoid spam.

·      Sharpen Uploaded Images 

      This was used to make the images sharper, but had to be disabled as it conflicted with the FooGallery plugin, making the post it was used on break.

    Contact Page

·    The contact page was coded from scratch in HTML, it wasn’t made with a plugin. It was implemented in the page itself

 

I installed the All-In-One-Migration, but it never worked, it would get to a certain point and then just give an error
